From Mumbai to Music

Born and raised as a common mumbaikar in a middle-class family, Amaey Thakurdesai grew up with minimal formal musical background, yet in a household that deeply admired music. This admiration naturally nurtured his inclination towards Rhythm and sound, making music an integral part of his life.

Recognizing his interest and potential at a very young age, his parents decided to introduce him to Tabla. Amaey began his formal training in tabla at the age of 8, gaining early exposure to rhythm, discipline, and performance.

Alongside learning, he actively accompanied his teachers to various Concerts and programmes, absorbing the nuances of stage performance and musical aesthetics.
